Discover Rome's most iconic popular neighborhoods in an active and fun way.
Breathe in the popular air of Rome as you pass through "real" neighborhoods like Testaccio and Porta Portese before reaching the Ostiense train station.
Testaccio embodies the spirit of true Roman-ness that can still be felt in the streets of the neighborhood, perhaps listening to the chatter of its inhabitants on the street. The neighborhood in fact, with its popular roots, is still inhabited by the Roman Doc, those who have Rome in their blood and belong to it. All this, together with some old stores with marble signs still present, makes Testaccio a sight not to be missed. Stop in the morning to look at Piazza Testaccio, now the heart of the neighborhood with its Fountain of the Amphoras, and savor this picture of Roman life. It will be hard to find elsewhere.

In terms of safety, the route of Line #9 alternates between stretches traveled on bike paths and narrow streets in downtown Rome open to car traffic. Extreme caution is recommended while cycling in the city's urban traffic. In addition, to reach the Tiber cycle path from Tiber Island, it is recommended to get off the bike and carry it by hand on the dock stairs while holding both brakes.
We recommend that you always wear a protective helmet while riding and secure your bicycle with a chain and lock at each stopping point along the route.
